Opening times at Ancient House

Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-4pm

From 1 October 2025 to 26 January 2026, the two upstairs rooms at Ancient House will be closed for redisplay. There will be 50% off admission at this time. Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-5pm

Last admission is 30 minutes before closing.

Ancient House is usually closed on Sundays, but will be open for three Sundays in 2025:

• Sunday 22 June 11am to 5pm as part of Thetford Open Gardens.

• Sunday 13 July 10am to 5pm as part of the Festival of Thetford and Punjab.

Bank Holidays and Seasonal Opening

We will be closed on Christmas Day (25 December 2025), Boxing Day (26 December 2025) and New Year's Day (1 January 2026).

Booking your tickets

We look forward to welcoming you to Ancient House Museum. Tickets are available on arrival and you can also book your tickets in advance online. We would recommend booking in advance during busier periods.
